I personally love this reminder of how the body communicates through pains, aches, and symptoms. I don’t believe that we did something wrong to manifest a physical malady. Rather I see these things as an opportunity to be in deep connection and communication with our bodies, our lives, our emotions, and our spirits. There is something deeper trying to emerge. My job as a BodyTalk practitioner, intuitive coach, and healer is to help facilitate that communication in such a way that you can come to understand yourself at a deeper level.
Every “body” has its own unique story.
We hold information, emotions, beliefs, and stresses in our bodies. What does it take to shift these patterns to healthier ways of being? Sometimes it is in our conscious control, but more often the key is in our subconscious. Many believe that our subconscious belief systems are set by the time we are six years old. If you try to change something and aren’t getting the results you want, it could be subconscious beliefs that are feeding the stubborn patterns.
Our minds and bodies are inextricably linked. What we think, believe, and feel about the world and ourselves affects our physical bodies. When we see and experience the world as stressful, then our body will struggle with its immune system, nervous system, and digestive system. We may have trouble sleeping, digesting, and thinking clearly. If we see the world as a medium to interact with, dance with, or be in synchronistic step with, then our nervous system is relaxed, in tune, and curious. We think clearly, heal quickly, digest food and life with more ease, and express ourselves more fully.
There are many books that talk about the connection of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. You can find some of these books listed below. I would say that these authors unearth many truths, and yet your experience might be that they don’t totally fit into your story—this would be an excellent time to schedule a BodyTalk session and find out your unique way to shift stressful patterns.
